Choose your bridal party's color theme, maids' dresses, mother's dresses, & reception location

Keep an eye open for photos of floral bouquets you like, color schemes that appeal -to your taste. Knowing what you like makes your choice of flowers easier & more certain to please you.


Don’t order flowers too early: wait until 6 weeks before wedding, place your flower order and relax! Call your florist 10 days before the wedding to confirm the number of guest tables & review the order.

Keep the cost in line by...

  1. Prioritizing- spend money where it counts- visualize the segments of your wedding: will more people see the church flowers or reception flowers? Will the photos be better with more or fewer ( larger or smaller) bouquets?

  2. Try to choose flowers which are in season and are readily available. Tulips in August, roses on Valentine’s day, anthuriums, calla lilies, and many exotics will boost your bouquet costs.

  3. Work with your florist to achieve the look you want to create with flowers that will hold up better & cost less than delicate exotics

  4. Containers for centerpieces may not be important if the centerpiece is low to the table and not visible.

  5. Consider the monetary cost of having the flowers arranged professionally &, the social cost of relying on friends & family to create floral arrangements on a very busy And stressful day. Call the florist.
