The Agreement for Stress Free Wedding Flowers

by Alicia Solop

Use this checklist to make sure you have no misunderstandings or disappointments with your florist. Discuss and agree to all the elements below and make sure they are included in your written agreement.

These items should be covered in your flower agreement:

1. Name and contact information for you and the vendor.

2. Date, times, and locations of your ceremony and reception. Include all contact names and phone numbers.

3. An itemized list of all the flower arrangements you're buying, from bouquets to centerpieces, with names and colors.

4. Flower alternatives (in your price range) should a specific bloom be unavailable on your wedding day; also include unacceptable substitutions, if any.

5. A list of items the florist will supply - centerpiece vases, trellises, other accessories. If they need to be returned, include a list of the items and the date of return.

6. Arrival times for setup at the ceremony and reception sites.

7. Where and when bouquets and boutonnieres should be delivered, if not to the ceremony site (to your home, for example).

8. Name of the person, if any, who will be on hand during the wedding.

9. Total cost and payment schedule.

10. Sales tax, overtime charges, delivery fees, and setup fees.

11. Deposit amount and due date.

12. Balance amount and due date.

13. Cancellation/refund policy.

14. Florists' signature.

15. Your signature.
